Instructions:
Choose and respond to one of the following prompts for your midterm assignment:
1. Russia: What can and should the United States intelligence community do to change its focus given the real and growing threat of Russian counterintelligence operations and cyber hacking against the U.S. and our partners?
You must also address how the strategic relationship between the United States and Russia declined since Vladimir Putin took office, and Russia’s malign influence strategy in its near abroad (Frozen Conflicts).

Venezuela: What economic, political, and humanitarian issues in the country of Venezuela have made it an appealing target for foreign intervention (especially Russia, China, Turkey and Cuba), and what security and diplomatic issues will this create for the United States in its future relationship with Venezuela? Please ensure that you address what intelligence issues will arise with the US’s enemies having a foothold in the country, and what could potentially happen to Juan Guaido’s interim presidency.
The policy assignment should be written using the APA Handbook and guidelines. Do not include works in your references that are not cited. Your entire content including your bibliography/references MUST be in APA format. Failure to use APA is an automatic 4 points off your grade. MANY online programs will format for you.
