Learning Goal: I’m working on a nursing writing question and need guidance to help me learn.Getting Started We saw last week how our Lord Jesus gave humanity the highest honor when He took on our human nature, was born as a baby, grew up, lived among us, and, in a final act of self-sacrificial love, gave Himself in our place as our Savior. In some sense, He will always be the God who is also human, as we see in Revelation 1. As you may recall from the 3.1 Assignment, humans possess unique spiritual characteristics created as an inherent part of their human makeup. The human spirit uniquely has the ability to interact with the Creator God, who is Spirit. Understanding the special distinctiveness of being human makes us aware of the special position with which God has dignified us. It affects how we see value and worth in ourselves and other persons. It gives us pause as we consider the lives we will live. As we come to understand, we have been created with a human spirit that hungers to commune with our God who is also spirit. We perceive that, unlike any other creatures in Creation, we are not complete until we are “in Him,” spiritually unified with our Maker. He completes us. St. Augustine prayed in his Confessions in the fourth century: “Thou hast made us for thyself, and our heart is restless until it finds its rest in thee.” Resources Bible: A standard translation, as noted in the syllabus
