Instructions
Using course materials as well as your own research, please
respond to the questions posted below. Responses should be 6-8 pages,
double-spaced, APSA format (or a consistent formatting style), 12 point
font, 1-inch margins. Make sure to liberally cite (not quote, but cite)
course materials.
Over the term you have been examining key global environmental issues
and the politics and actors involved in their governance. Using
readings from our course, which can include your book and literature
reviews, as well as outside resources, please select a
global/international environmental issue that is interesting to you.
Then, follow the outline below to develop your paper.
I. Introduction: Introduce the issue to be discussed in brief historical and contemporary context.
II. Theoretical Dimensions: Using the theoretical perspectives from
week two, select a perspective that you think can best be used to
understand and explain your issue and explain (justify) why you think
this is the best framework to examine your selected issue.
III. Arguments: What are the arguments supporting or opposing this
issue? What are the broader global environmental issues at play (e.g.
climate change, habitat connectivity, population growth, etc.)
IV. Analysis: What are your thoughts on the issue? Do you have an
argument for or against (or can you see both sides)? What are some
possible policy solutions? Are they realistic? Explain and justify.
V. Conclusion: Relevant concluding comments concerning your topic and analysis.
