In the following questions, consider all aspects of the course terms and topics we covered this semester. Consider the reading assignments (articles, law cases, and case studies), class discussions and online discussions, and class topics. Reflect on legal terms and cases when necessary. III. As student affairs practitioners there may be occasions when you struggle to set professional boundaries. When this occurs how will you respond? How do you plan to model the way for students as a student affairs professional?

IV. What are some issues to consider when you are required to provide accommodations to students? How will you respond to their needs? You may highlight specific areas within the student affairs profession.

V. Decision-making is a learned process, one that takes years to develop. Effective decision-making can promote student development and learning, improve practice, and gain the respect of colleagues and supervisors. Discuss ethical decision-making and how it may apply to the student affairs profession topics we discussed in the course.

VI. Describe two areas within the field of Student Affairs that Title IX impacts. Discuss how knowledge in the law will benefit you in your career.

VII. Consider workplace ethics and the work skills necessary to be successful in a student affairs career. Discuss the importance of having a solid ethical foundation. You may highlight professional codes of ethics when appropriate.

VIII. Discuss key student affairs legal concerns and issues. Topics may include, hazing, risk management, campus security/safety, student organizations, liability, and student discipline. Discuss relevant law case(s) related to these areas with their implications to the student affairs field.

IX. Discuss key student affairs legal concerns and issues related to academic freedom, due process, FERPA, and personnel issues. Discuss relevant law case(s) related to these areas with their implications to the student affairs field.
